Wellness Benefits of Acai Berry Bowls
This acai smoothie bowl helps you combat the effects of stress from the high antioxidative properties found in all the fruit!
- Acai berries- are high in antioxidants, help with weight loss, skin care, a healthy heart and gut.
- Blueberries– high oxidative powers, full of vitamins and minerals, supports a healthy cardiovascular system
- Strawberries– Same amazing benefits from the berries above as they also support your body with immunity-boosting antioxidants, they are heart healthy, and help fight inflammation, and are even anti-aging.
Ingredients and Substitutions
Acai Packet– This is a frozen acai puree packet. Typically each packet is about 3.5 oz each.
Blueberries– Use frozen blueberries that you bought frozen or freeze fresh ones you have on hand. You can sub the blueberries for more strawberries.
Strawberries– Use frozen and again if you don’t have strawberries sub in more blueberries.
Coconut Oil– This gives the smoothie bowl a healthy boost of fat, makes it creamier and will be flavorless if you use refined coconut oil.
Vanilla Protein Powder– While completely optional, it is going to help you stay full longer if you have protein in the bowl. It will also help sweeten the flavor. I use a vegan protein powder but you can use your favorite.
Fresh Lemon Juice– I started adding lemon to most of my smoothies because even the smallest amount makes a big difference in boosting the flavor of your smoothie bowl.
Water– I prefer to use water most of the time, but you can use milk (dairy or non-dairy) instead. Using water will not affect the creaminess of this bowl.

Expert Tips
- Buy Organic– Buy organic if you can to reap the most health benefits from this super healthy smoothie bowl.
- Don’t Skip This– To make this the least frustrating experience don’t forget to run the acai packet under hot water. It is REALLY hard even for a high-speed blender to break down a big hunk of acai.
- Keep It Thick– To keep this thick don’t add more water unless absolutely necessary! You should stop the blender and push the stuff down/around to help the blender out. If you add more water add just 1-2 tbs at a time.
