Your nervous system isn't either-or; it's both-and Your nervous system isn't either-or; it's both-and. We have healthy states for our sympathetic nervous system, and we have healthy states for our parasympathetic nervous system just like both of those can have states where we are stuck.

It's not about one being on while the other is off—they're both constantly at play. The body is always adjusting, depending on our environment.

If we look through a polyvagal lens, our nervous system is scanning for safety or danger through something called neuroception—our body's subconscious way of detecting cues in the environment.

It's more like a dimmer switch than an on-off switch, constantly tuning up or down based on what it perceives. This flexibility is how we navigate different experiences, balancing between activity and rest, challenge and calm. Understanding this can help you expand your window of tolerance and feel more in control of your responses to stress.

My fav ways to expand your window of tolerance:

🌿 Yoga Nidra: Deep relaxation that helps reset your nervous system.
💨 Breathwork: Simple breathing techniques to calm and regulate.
🤸 Movement: Gentle exercise or stretching to release built-up stress.
🅰️ Upgrading your language you use to describe stress, your situations and the your stressful experiences

My brand new yoga nidra app launches tomorrow. Making nervous system balance easy. You can get a 14 day free trial and lock in a founding members discount if 40% of the yearly rare for life!

Intentionally designed to align your meditations with your life and balance your nervous system.

Why would you want to align your meditations with your life?

Well because, science.

Science tells us that we can change our brains through neuroplasticity. But as adults we especially need things like repetition, awareness, embodiment and more to create lasting change.

We also need to access our slower brain wave states (enter yoga nidra).

In order to change things like habitual patterns in your nervous system and your thoughts, beliefs, and emotions so that your life can feel different

So that you can feel less stressed, more calm, more energy, and greater sleep you need intention.

But maybe you could care less about all this. And you just love the practice of Yoga Nidra.

Intentionology®️ app will give you a calm space to enter into from the very beginning. There's no ads, no interruptions that will increase your stress. You can listen with your screen off. You can save your favorites. You can download to listen offline. So many features to make coming to your yoga nidra practice easier. And who doesn't need more easy in their life?

I'm so excited to get this in the hands of as many people as possible.

With the launch happening on October 1st I'm running a few specials.

Anyone who signs up for a trial gets 15 days to try the app instead of the normal 7 days. You also have the opportunity to access the app for a founding member special at 40% off the yearly price.

Guilty of giving up on meditation? 🙋‍♀️ Guilty of giving up on meditation? 🙋‍♀️

You’re not alone! So many people try it to ease stress, only to feel just as wound up—or even more frustrated.

When you’re already stressed, the last thing you need is meditation that feels like another thing to do. That’s why I love Yoga Nidra. 🙌 It’s completely effortless because it taps into something your body already knows how to do—sleep. 💤 Just get comfortable, listen, and let the relaxation happen.

People often say it’s the most relaxed they’ve ever felt, even after one session. If other meditations haven’t worked for you, this could be your game-changer.

Reply "Guilty" and I'll send you a free yoga nidra meditation for you to try and see for yourself that true relaxation is available with meditation.

I got 99 problems but meditation ain't one ⬇️ I got 99 problems but meditation ain't one ⬇️

At some point, we started believing that if something is hard, it must be more effective. But that’s not always true. Just because something feels challenging doesn’t mean it’s working better.

Take Yoga Nidra, for example. It uses the body’s natural process of sleep to guide you into deep states of relaxation—without needing to sit in silence or force your mind to quiet down. You just lie back and let it happen.

We tend to glorify struggle and hustle, but stress relief doesn’t have to be complicated. Yoga Nidra shows that ease can be just as powerful, if not more so.

Life is full of enough struggle, no need to make meditation one of them.

Feel guilty resting? You’re not alone. But h Feel guilty resting?

You’re not alone.

But here’s the truth: you don’t have to wait for the perfect moment, a clean to-do list, or 'deserving' rest to take care of yourself.

Practices like Yoga Nidra are meant to support you right now—in the mess, the stress, and the imperfect moments. Stop waiting, start resting. 🛌🏼🥱

🧠 Yoga Nidra doesn’t just help you relax—it 🧠 Yoga Nidra doesn’t just help you relax—it works deeply at the subconscious level by guiding your brain through various stages of brainwave activity.

During a Yoga Nidra session, your mind transitions from the active beta state (where we're alert and often stressed) into slower brainwave states like alpha and theta sometimes even delta. These slower states are where the magic happens—where the subconscious mind is most open to releasing deeply ingrained patterns, habits, and stress responses that have been building up over time.

👩🏼‍🔬 Research has shown that regular Yoga Nidra practice helps break the cycle of automatic responses to stress by calming the nervous system and increasing neuroplasticity—meaning your brain becomes more flexible in creating new, healthier pathways.

♾️ The effects don’t end on the mat (or nidra nest). The more you practice, the more mindful you become of your triggers and the patterns that show up in stressful moments. Instead of falling into old habits, Yoga Nidra helps you pause, reflect, and realign with your true desires, giving you the power to respond differently and live more intentionally. 💫

This practice is like hitting reset for your mind and body—bringing you back to a place of balance and alignment, both consciously and subconsciously.

Trying all the things, but it's not working? I me Trying all the things, but it's not working?

I mean, I got a little frustrated yesterday when I searched "nervous system" in IG. I saw 1 trillion posts that literally all said the same thing.

Yes the advice is sound. Yes morning sunlight, breathwork, meditation, journaling, checking in with your body all help to regulate your nervous system,

BUT....

There is an important message that I didn't see much of yesterday when searching. Maybe it's because it's not as glamorous. It isn't as aesthetic.

But a crucial part of regulating your nervous system long term is what's happening inside your mind. Your cognitive framework that interprets all of the things happening in your day must be addressed.

You see things like your thoughts, beliefs, stories, your internal narrative and the words you use to describe things that act like filters.

Whatever these filters are will dictate how you experience the stressful situation that could lead to more imbalance in your nervous system.

Example:

You are stuck behind a slow driver.

Your automatic patterns and stories will dictate how you experience this event.

Person 1 (the person who needs to work on their cognitive framework) " man I am so late, this person shouldn't have a license, they have no idea how to drive. I do not have time for this, this morning" this leads to... a stress response in the body- gripping the steering wheel, increased blood pressure, clenching the jaw, which sets the tone for your entire day to be in a heightened state.

Person 2 (the person who has learned to have helpful thoughts) "I might as well relax and enjoy the drive. There is nothing I can do about this person driving so slow". Which leads to no stress reaction, which leads to feeling pretty good all day.

Same situation...two very different outcomes.

Changing your mindset and framework is hard and it most certainly isn't glamorous. But it can be easy when you use things like mindfulness and yoga nidra meditation.

Follow along if you want to be more like person 2 and less like person 1.

Sometimes you need to let the sympathetic nervous Sometimes you need to let the sympathetic nervous system do what it was designed to do... Take action.

Stop letting the tension build, stop trying to curb the need to take action and instead find constructive ways to move through a stress cycle so the body can go back to a state of balance.

Ways to release the pressure and move through the sympathetic state...

1. Crying
2. Laughter
3. Creative expression -draw paint etc
4. Expressing emotion - you can even journal and then burn it
5. Stomp, jump, rage dance, shaking
6. Punch a pillow, bed or something soft
7. Scream as loud as you need into a pillow
8. Eft
9. Pushing against a wall
10. Any movement you love, walking weightlifting etc.

Do any of these sound familiar? If so, you might Do any of these sound familiar?

If so, you might be stuck in an automatic pattern—those deeply ingrained habits of thought or reaction that keep us stuck in the same loops.

Here are 7 signs you might recognize:

1. You react to stress the same way every time.
2. Negative thoughts pop up on repeat.
3. You feel drained, no matter what you do.
4. Certain triggers always set you off.
5. You often think, "Why does this keep happening?"
6. You feel stuck or unable to move forward.
7. Small things feel overwhelming.

Recognizing you’re stuck in an automatic pattern is the first step toward change. So, what’s next? 🌱

Start by bringing mindfulness into your day. When you notice a negative thought or a stressful reaction, pause. Take a deep breath and simply observe what’s happening without judgment. This awareness creates a small but powerful space where you can choose a different response.

Next, try incorporating Yoga Nidra into your routine. This practice guides you into a state of deep relaxation, helping to release those ingrained patterns at a subconscious level. Over time, it can help you create new, healthier patterns that support your well-being.

Remember, change doesn’t happen overnight, but with consistent practice, you can break free from the cycles that no longer serve you. 🌟 Ready to take that next step? Let’s do this together.

Join me 7 days free in my meditation membership that can help you become more self aware, calmer, gain energy and sleep better.
Have you ever finished a Yoga Nidra session and wo Have you ever finished a Yoga Nidra session and wondered if you didn’t go “deep enough” because your mind felt too active? 🤔

It’s a common experience, but here’s the thing: depth in Yoga Nidra isn’t about having a completely still mind. Sometimes, an active mind is actually a sign that your practice is working. When you allow your thoughts to surface without getting caught up in them, you're giving your mind the space it needs to release tension and stress.

So if your mind feels busy, don’t worry—it doesn’t mean you’re not going deep. It’s all part of the process. The more you practice, the easier it becomes to observe your thoughts without judgment and to find that deeper sense of relaxation.

Remember, there’s no “right” way to experience Yoga Nidra—every session is a valuable step on your journey. 🌟
