Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup almond milk or milk of choice
  • 1-3 tablespoons honey see notes or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder optional
  • 4 cups frozen whole strawberries

Instructions

  • Thaw your frozen strawberries in a large bowl for 15 minutes on the counter at room temperature. If you are in a hurry you can microwave them for 15 second increments, two times.
  • Add all of your ingredients to the blender in the order listed. Start the blender on low and ramp up to high. Blend until smooth and creamy. Use the tamper as needed to keep the blender moving isntead of adding more liquid. If you do not have a tamper stop the blender and use a rubber spatula to push the ingredients down towards the blender.
  • Serve immediately or freeze- You can serve this right away with your favorite toppings. We loved fresh dragon fruit and freeze-dried strawberries for crunch. You can also freeze this in two shallow freezer-safe containers. When ready to eat thaw with the lid off on the counter for 20 minutes.

Notes

Start with 1 tablespoon of honey or maple syrup and taste
