Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut cream, see notes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon honey, optional for sweetness
  • 2 cups frozen strawberries
  • 2 cups frozen banana slices or 2 medium frozen banana

Instructions

  • Add: In a high-blender, add your ingredinets in the order listed.
  • Blend: Start blending on low and work your way up to high. Use the tamper the entire time or stop the blender and use a rubber spatula and push the ingredients down toward the blades. Be patient with this process especially if you do not have a high-powered blender. See notes for more tips. Blend until smooth, evenly combined, and creamy.
  • Enjoy: Top with your favorite toppings and serve immediately. We love fresh fruit like strawberries, bananas and chia seeds.

Notes

Be sure to use ripe frozen banana.
If you do not have a high-powered blender let your frozen fruit sit at room temperature for 3-5 minutes before blending. You can also use a food processor. The blades tend to stop when air pockets are trapped. Work the food around so you release those pockets.
